Meet Our Moms
Here are pictures and descriptions of the beautiful mama dogs that are part of our breeding program. Each one has her own unique personality, temperament, and qualities that make her special.
Our mamas are raised in our home as part of our family. As they grow, they enjoy life in a large, spacious dog yard where they live together as a happy pack with the other dogs. This gives them plenty of room to play, socialize, and enjoy the companionship of their pack.
We love getting to know each mama and watching her grow into the wonderful dog she is today. Our goal is to provide each of our mamas with a happy, healthy, and enriching life while they help us raise the next generation of Great Basin Miniature Schnauzers.
Ebony
Ebony is such a joy to have around. She is black with touches of silver that in certain light looks blue. She plays games with our horses and of course the horses love to play back. They are separated by a fence, but they run back and forth with each other and it's so much fun to watch them. She weighs 20-22 pounds.
Peaches
Peaches nickname as a puppy was Taz because she had the energy and momentum of Taz off of Looney Tunes. She has calmed down since then but still shows plenty of enthusiasm on our daily walks. She is white with touches of yellow which is why we named her Peaches & Cream. She loves our walks and at night when it's time to come in and settle down, she believes the best spot is on our laps. Being next to us just isn't enough for this girl. She weighs 17 pounds.
Birdie
Birdie is my little cuddle bug. She loves being with her humans and she has the funniest personality. She is straight terrier through and through when we go on our walks. There is nothing she won't chase, and she has the best time doing it. When we get home, she is happy to continue her cuddling ways. She weighs 17 pounds.
Fancy
Fancy is a beautiful salt and pepper girl out of Lucy, who is retired, and Fergy. She has the schnauzer talk and she is so smart! She loves our daily walks and chasing anything that will make a run for it. She has a gentle personality with her humans and loves to play with anyone who is willing. Nothing gets past her, and she lives up to her watchdog traits and lets you know if there's a stranger around! These pictures are of her winter haircut.
Poppy

Poppy was born with a beautiful reddish coat, but as she has grown, her color has gradually softened to white. If you look closely, you can still see little touches of red throughout her coat, almost like the pepper in a traditional salt and pepper Schnauzer. It’s one of the things that makes Poppy so unique.
Poppy is our fastest girl in the pack! She loves to run, play, and show off her speed whenever she gets the chance. She has plenty of energy and is always ready to join in on whatever fun is happening around the farm.
But once the running and playing are over, Poppy is more than happy to settle in for some cuddles. She loves her people and enjoys being close, soaking up all the attention and affection she can get.
And while Poppy has a very sweet and cuddly side, she is also one of our most alert girls. Nothing gets past her! She is always keeping an eye on what is happening around her and will be sure to let us know when a stranger—or even a sneaky cat—comes through the area.
Poppy is such a fun combination of playful, affectionate, fast, and watchful. She brings plenty of personality to our pack and is a very special part of our Great Basin farm family.
